Withdrawing from UNC Charlotte

Students who Withdraw from the University

Student Health Center Services

Students must be enrolled at UNC Charlotte in order to use Student Health Center services.

Once a student has withdrawn from the University (regardless of whether the student received a refund of the Health Fee), he or she is not eligible for services except for one follow-up visit at the discretion of the attending provider for an illness treated immediately prior to the withdraw.

For more information call 704-687-7400.

Students with Student Health Insurance

Withdraw within the first 31 days of the semester

Students who withdraw from UNC Charlotte within 31 calendar days of the first day of class cannot keep the Student Health Insurance.  If they have not filed an insurance claim, the cost of the premium will be credited to the student’s Student Account.

Withdraw after the first 31 days of the semester

Students who withdraw 31 days or more after the first day of class may continue to use the Student Health Insurance but they cannot be seen at the Student Health Center.  There is no reimbursement of the premium even if they cancel the Student Health Insurance.

Students who withdraw in the Fall will be covered by student insurance until early January.  Students who withdraw in the Spring will be covered until early August.  Contact the Student Health Center Insurance Office for more information.
