David is responsible for the administration of the Student Health Center. He manages the budget and is the University’s HIPAA Privacy Officer responsible for patient confidentiality policies.
Emily manages the services provided by the clinical areas of the Student Health Center. She supervises staff in the laboratory, radiology, immunizations, and nursing departments. She also coordinates services provided by our Physical Therapist and Registered Dietitian. She arranges the GYN specialty clinics and schedules free HIV testing clinics in conjunction with MAP (Metrolina AIDS Project) at the Health Center.
Chris manages the pharmacy, including ordering and dispensing medications. He counsels patients for medications and dosages
Angela manages the services provided by the administrative areas of the Student Health Center. She is responsible for all new employee trainings and annual training for all staff, including safety and OSHA compliance. She oversees the quality improvement initiatives at the Student Health Center and ensures that the requirements for AAAHC Accreditation are met. She is responsible for the annual Institutional Effectiveness Reports for the Student Health Center and assists departments with setting and attaining their annual goals and objectives. She ensures that Student Health Center Policies and Procedures are created, maintained, and updated regularly.
Diane is responsible for maintaining and assuring the confidentiality of patient medical records. Her department assists patients with obtaining copies of their medical records.
Brian provides technical support for computer equipment and software.
Nicole Bernard coordinates the activities of the Front Office at the Student Health Center. The services provided by the front office staff include making appointments for our patients, providing general information about the SHC, and ensuring the check-in and check-out process is patient-friendly.
Donna coordinates the services provided in the digital x-ray department which accepts orders from Student Health Center and outside providers.
Kay is responsible for the mandatory health insurance program including waiving & enrolling in the Student Health Insurance. Kay also assists patients with general insurance & claims questions.
Susan coordinates the services available in the medical laboratory where specimens are collected and testing is conducted for patients within the Student Health Center as well as for patients with orders from outside medical providers.
The Center for Wellness Promotion is responsible for promoting healthy lifestyles to the student population. Debbie is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and provides individual counseling sessions to students who have violated the university’s drug and alcohol policy, as well as overseeing the alcohol sanctions program. She is a member of the UNC Charlotte Wellness Matrix, as well as the Chair of the Substance Abuse subcommittee. She manages the department’s grants.
Daniela received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida in 1998. She worked for Publix Pharmacy for eleven years and for Kindred Pharmacy Services for two years. During this time, she also served as a preceptor for University of Florida pharmacy students for over five years. She joined the UNC Charlotte Student Health Center in 2011. She enjoys watching movies, cooking and traveling with her husband and two children.
Layla provides physical therapy to patients referred from a medical provider.
Katie provides individual Medical Nutrition Therapy for a variety of health conditions. She conducts individual and group classes about college student nutrition and sports nutrition. She also provides individual weight management counseling.
Kelly is responsible for the mandatory health insurance program including waiving & enrolling in the Student Health Insurance. Kelly also assists patients with general insurance & claims questions.
Pam is responsible for daily oversight of services provided by the immunization department; including the allergy and travel clinics.
Carol Rose graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Master's Degree in Counseling. She has worked in a variety of healthcare and non-profit settings and has an entrepreneurial spirit by being a previous small business owner. Over the last couple of years she volunteered at The Levine Children's Hospital by providing "kanaroo care" care in the neo-natal unit and attending marketing events. She also helped foster the development of a Collegiate Recovery Community(CRC) at UNC Charlotte in 2011 by networking within the Charlotte recovery community to promote this new program. Carol was recently hired part-time by the Center for Wellness Promotion to promote and grow the CRC and fundraise for scholarship money for students in recovery.
Judy supervises the front office and medical records staffs. She responsible for purchasing, accounts payable, interdepartmental transfers, journal entries and facility management.
Jennifer coordinates prevention and support services for relationship violence, sexual assault and stalking.
Shawnte provides education on tobacco, alcohol, other drugs and other general wellness topics such as leadership, stress and time management. Shawnte also provides FREE Tobacco Cessation to all students wishing to quit tobacco use. Shawnte is a member of the Relationship Violence subcommittee, AOD committee, Mecklenburg Drug-Free Coalition. Shawnte also supervises all Interns for CWP.
Leslie provides education on sexual health and other wellness topics. Leslie is a member of the UNC Charlotte Wellness Matrix Team as well as the Relationship Violence subcommittee.
Susan provides assessments and intervention for students who are found in violation of the university’s alcohol or marijuana policy. She also works closely with the Collegiate Recovery Community(CRC) here at UNC Charlotte. Susan received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Hawaii.
