Student Health Insurance Plan
The Insurance brochure has the details of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHI) including benefits and exclusions. The brochures are available at the Student Health Center or on the Pearce & Pearce website.
- Go to Student Health Insurance
- Then click "Benefits (Plan Summary)"
- Click on "Preliminary Hard Waiver" (for eligible students only)
- Dependents or Non-Eligible Students should click on "Preliminary Voluntary"

The following student groups are required to have health insurance:
- Undergraduate students enrolled in 6 or more on-campus credit hours
- Graduate students enrolled in a degree seeking or certificate program (1 or more on-campus credit hours)
- International students
The following student groups are not required to have health insurance:
- Students ONLY enrolled in courses through the distance education program
- Faculty and Staff enrolled as students
- Graduate students in a non-degree seeking program
Spouse and Dependant Coverage:
Spouses and dependant coverage can be added to the Student Health Insurance Plan by calling the insurance company, Peace & Pearce, at 1-888-722-1668. The premium must be paid directly to the insurance company. A spouse or dependent is defined as:
- A legal spouse or same-sex domestic partner, residing with the student
- Unmarried dependent children under 19 yrs. of age (23 years of age if a full- time student)
Spouses and dependent children are not eligible for care at the Student Health Center.
